Heart Shamrocks - Fri, Mar 13th, 2015

Need a quick idea for making a shamrock for cards or tags?

Take "heart" we have this all worked out for you.

Hearts Cutting Die

The clever shamrock shown here is made from the Hearts Designer Cutting Die.

With 11 dies in the set, you can choose from 7 different heart sizes for the shamrock size that you desire.

There are also 4 heart shapes that have the stitch X detail for creating an embossed treatment.

Heart Shamrock Tag How-To's

Here are the 6 basic steps for making this Heart Shamrock Tag:

Step 1

Position your heart dies in place on your die cutting tool platform.

We used the Pefect Positioner to make sure everything stayed in place.

Step 2

Fold up your paper so that you have four layers and position this over your die.

Note that for cutting through 4 layers, it is best to work with regular weight paper.

Separate out your hearts and pre-place them into position to form a shamrock.

Step 3

Die cut the largest tag from the Tags Designer Cutting Die set.

Once your tag is cut, edge it up with some Foil Tape (100569 Gold Foil Green Stripes)

Step 4

Arrange your hearts into the shamrock shape on the decorated tag using dimensional foam adhesive.

Step 5

Make a stem for your shamrock using a notched piece of Gold Foil Shamrock tape.

Step 6

The final touch is to create a decorated circle center (to cover the meeting points of the heart).

We covered a piece of cardstock with the Shamrock tape to make "Tape Paper" first.

Then simply punch out the round shape using the Circle punch and mat it with a Scallop punch; adhere in place.

Hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day!

"For each petal on the shamrock.
This brings a wish your way
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day."
